Annette Power Semi Permanent Makeup

Microblading

Microblading London

Microblading in London with Harley Street's Top Artist - Annette Power

Microblading in London with Annette Power. Microblading creates the appearance of hair in the brow line. By using a fine point tool, our microblading experts make small lines which look identical to hairs. Microblading provides a more natural look than the standard permanent makeup eyebrows, and takes less than two hours to complete and is also less permanent than the permanent makeup technique, lasting between one and three years.

Microblading is also called eyebrow embroidery or Micropigmentation, is the process of implanting color pigment beneath the surface of the skin by means of a tiny, sterile, disposable needle to produce the appearance of cosmetic makeup or to enhance the natural features of the face.

Anyone who desires more fullness of the brows will love these procedures and the time saved by not applying makeup. With microbladed eyebrows you can go swimming, play tennis, or wipe your forehead without the embarrassment of losing your eyebrows

Ombré Eyebrows

For the shaded fuller eyebrow effect. More of a fashion statement and ‘made up’ look. Beautiful colour of your choice is blended in the eyebrow area giving symmetry and lovely statement brows.

How long does my Microblading last?

They fade over time and should be refreshed every 1-1.5 years for maintenance. Fading is desired as your skin and facial structure will change as aging occurs. Semi-Permanent Makeup is an ART not a science. Client results will vary. Even though it is effective and lasts up to a year in most cases, no guarantee can be made that a specific client will benefit from the procedure.

Everyone’s skin is different, it is very important that each client understands that I can create perfect, gorgeous brows but ultimately it is up to your skin to retain my semi-permanent cosmetic service.

Generally the results are amazing but it very much depends on your own skin type, texture and oiliness.

Will I need a Microblading Top up?

The first microblading appointment is about structure, design, and building hair strokes. The top up is about seeing how the skin heals and retains pigment, as well as making any necessary adjustments to achieve better symmetry, definition, or volume.

In most of the cases, only a minor touch up is necessary to fill in any sparse areas for a very natural look and some do choose to skip the top up appointment to keep the look more natural.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

It is an advanced form of cosmetic tattooing, the pigments are inserted into the dermal layer of the skin meaning they cannot be washed off and periodic maintenance (usually an annual colour boost) is needed as they will fade over time. They are not like a normal tattoo that goes deeper into the skin which is why a normal tattoo is permanent.

The other terms used for these procedures are micropigmentation, PMU (permanent make up) semi permanent make up or cosmetic tattoos.

Most clients say no, some even fall asleep during a procedure. We all have different pain thresholds but we do everything in our power to make all our clients comfortable by using the best and most effective topical anaesthetics and taking every precaution to make each client as comfortable as possible, no one has ever not had a procedure done because they found it painful. Sometimes scratchy but not painful.

Usually a couple of years but everyone is different. We recommend seeing clients for an annual top up which is approximately half the cost of the original procedure and only one appointment.

If this is the first time having a procedure it is always a two appointment process. The first appointment when we do a full consultation, discuss what you want to achieve, shape, colour etc, fill in medical questionnaire, consent form, go through aftercare and give you your aftercare instructions and aftercare balms to take home with you and then do the treatment or several treatments all at the same time is a longer appointment. Approximately a month later you will return for a top up which is included in the price as there will always be some fade as well as allowing us to put more colour in so it lasts longer. As our motto is to err on the side of caution it gives you on your top up/second appointment to decide to go thicker, longer, darker once you have got used to your new semi permanent make up. Of course a month between appointments is not set in stone, we adjust to fit in with your diary or visits to London.

The good news is yes as you will only look better when you leave than when you came in. One client presented the news the same day she had her eyebrows done, another went straight from the Clinic to Buckingham Palace to collect her Damehood. Whilst all my clients are on TV or seeing the Queen on the same day as a treatment us normal people can go back to work, go to lunch, dinner etc. The area(s) you have had done will look stronger than the healed result but just looks like normal make up and it should not stop you going about your every day business.

I do many procedures from beauty to medical and usually the healing time is approximately a week, some people heal in 4-5 days and some up to 9-10 days. It depends also on what you have had done eg a beauty spot or subtle eyeliner will take less time than a full lip colour.

The colour you leave with is stonger than the healed result. We show you on your skin what the colour will fade to so you know what to expect and that helps you with colour choice, we are here to advise and show you what will suit your skin tone and colouring. You will usually lose 40-50% of the colour on eyebrows and eyeliner and 50-70% of the colour on your lips. Your semi permanent make up will look like strong going out make up in the first few days.

Make up can be done as subtle or as dramatic as you would like us to do for you. Options we do are:

    • Eyebrows, hairstroke, ombre, microbladed, combination hairs and ombre
    • Eyeliner from eyelash enhancement (small dots that looks like you have more lashes) to full winged eyeliner.
    • Lipliner, full lip colour
    • Beauty spots
    • Freckles
    • Hair imitation
    • Areola repigmentation and creation (after cancer), also if you just want them a nicer colour for your areolas
    • Scar camouflage

As long as you are over 18 and care about how you look you will benefit from these procedures, a lot of clients who do not usually wear make up but want to look fresh and natural will have semi permanent make up done subtly to enhance their eyebrows, eyes and lip colour. We have every colour you can imagine and can do procedures that no one will notice except to tell you the “you look well!” It is very convenient if you cannot see well or have normal make up allergies. Most of us want to wake up looking great without having to apply conventional make up and it saves time for our busy lives and we just want to look our best at all times. We can choose to be as subtle or as strong as we like and you can always add more conventional make up if you are going out to a function or just want a stronger look. The colour we choose for your lips does not limit the colours of lipstick you can use afterwards.

As long as you choose the right technician who listens carefully to what outcome you are hoping to achieve this should never happen. Do not go on price as this is a cosmetic tattoo and cannot be wiped away like normal make up. That is why it is good we have 2 appointments and you can always add more on the second appointment. Our policy is to “err on the side of caution”. Choose the person to do your make up based on experience (Annette Power has 21 years and also a Trainer), reviews from clients. Someone good with a lot of experience will be more expensive but they will give you more time, have more knowledge, use the best equipment, pigments, numbing cream etc and give you more time and not rush you and will know and understand what you want and help you achieve that.

If you choose the right technician who is properly trained, very experienced, has great before and after photos, great reviews and lots of them. They will have studied colour theory and skin undertones and listen to what you want, give you their time, use the best equipment and pigments etc it is very safe. This is not a procedure to go on price. The cost of having eyebrows done 20 years ago was £500 so its not a cheap procedure to have done but life changing when done well!

Yes looks great with any skin tone. In the case of Asian or Black skin colour muted colours will not stand out and we suggest more vibrant lip colours, looks great for eyebrows and eyeliner also.

Numerous studies have shown that even people will a full body tattoo can have little or no irritation with an MRI scan, there should be no issue having one although we suggest you advise the technician doing the scan.
